Lifeguard (Seasonal) Multiple Positions

Lifeguards shall be responsible for:
-Guarding the area to which assigned or reassigned. -Understanding the rules and regulations which apply to the DEC swimming areas and ensuring that these rules and regulations are observed by people using the bathing facility -Preventing accidents and effecting rescues -Maintaining a high level of physical and mental fitness by participating in an active in-service training program -Making detailed written reports to their supervisors on all accidents and rescues -Performing other duties as assigned in inclement weather -All tasks are to be conducted in a safe manner, with any injuries/illnesses reported immediately to supervisor.

Salary Range:
From $14.95 to $14.95 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Must be at least sixteen years of age. At the time of employment, all candidates must possess current certifications in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or the equivalent) and the American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding Certificate (or the equivalent). Also must have American Red Cross First Aid (or equivalent) if not included in the lifeguard training course. All certifications must remain current through the entire operating season. Candidates may participate in the practical examination without the above certifications; however they must be provided before employment begins. Candidates must successfully complete the lifeguard practical exam of DEC or the New York State Office of Parks/ Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP). Candidates must meet a minimum base of 20/70 uncorrected vision in both eyes and be correctable to the 20/40 standard. Candidates tested at a vision level below 20/40 in either one or both eyes must correct to a minimum of 20/40 with 20/20 preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
